We seek a Software QA Analyst who can work at our Quality Assurance (QA) team’s location in Benin City, Nigeria. The position requires work from a specific location in Benin City, Nigeria. Quality Assurance Analysts must verify the superior quality of POS software and hardware solutions under their responsibility. The Senior Software QA analyst will supervise your daily work as you use manual and automated testing to ensure SpacePointe’s POS system maintains top-quality performance standards. The position will enable you to gain practical experience with modern technologies while developing excellent products that serve global businesses.
Key Responsibilities:
Manual Testing:
You must run test cases to confirm that POS software and hardware solutions meet all functional, integration, regression, and performance requirements.
Organize data records while managing defect reports so any issues detected in tests get processed in a timely manner.
Conduct exploratory and ad hoc testing to detect potential issues that remain untested in specific areas.
Assisting with User Acceptance Tests (UAT) ensures new features fulfill both business standards and technical specifications.
Test Automation:
Test automation teams should create and run pre-built scripts that ensure the ongoing integration of POS applications.
Java and Python are programming tools you should use alongside Selenium and JUnit automation tools to build maintainable and efficient automated testing.
You will work together with other team members to build automation frameworks, which should get integrated for development flow purposes.
Bug Reporting & Tracking:
Testing procedure defects need to be documented through appropriate systems that include JIRA or other similar bug trackers.
Provide cooperative support to the development team for testing issue identification, which leads to successful issue reproduction and optimal issue resolution.
You will work together with developers to detect the fundamental reasons behind problems and maintain prompt resolution methods.
Collaboration with Development Teams:
Collaborate with development teams along with product managers to understand specifications and get details about new system functions.
Offer swift feedback regarding test outcomes together with the weak areas that require improvement.
You must participate in sprint planning and daily stand-ups to receive updates about product releases and development work assignments.
Documentation:
You must establish complete records for test cases along with test results and QA activities for immediate future access.
Test coverage must extend to all areas of the product and match the established requirements.
Performance and Load Testing:
Test the POS system’s performance to verify its ability to process significant numbers of transactions.
Test the system by performing stress and load simulation scenarios to determine its capability for future growth.
POS Hardware Testing:
Participate in hardware component tests for POS devices, which include receipt printers, card readers, and barcode scanners.
Test hardware and software components to confirm their interoperability, then identify integration problems when they happen.
Qualifications:
Education:
Candidates need to hold a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or any similar technical discipline.
Experience:
The ideal candidate should demonstrate experience between 1-2 years in technical testing or quality assurance fields, especially when combined with programming or software development expertise.
The job requires experience in programming languages, including Java, Python, and C# together with an aptitude to create and maintain automated tests.
Familiarity with automation testing tools such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, or similar.
The candidate must have background experience with manual testing together with experience in writing test cases and defect tracking through tools including JIRA along with similar platforms.
Skills:
The required skills for automated test script development include knowledge of at least one programming language in Java or Python or additional programming languages.
Proficiency in QA methodologies as well as expertise in QA tools and processes.
Knowledge in POS systems and payment processing applications, as well as similar software, strengthens a candidate’s profile.
The candidate must possess excellent analytical thinking to identify and solve technical problems while troubleshooting complex issues.
Knowledge of version control systems, including Git and GitHub, adds value to the applicant.
